It`s getting to be the case that every day the name of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is being mentioned in the same sentence as the name of Manchester United.

Yesterday, in something we didn`t get around to covering, Anthony Martial declared that it would be an absolute delight to play alongside the legendary Swedish striker next season.

Today the inference is given in the Sun that Ibrahimovic still harbours an ambition to play for Manchester United and that he can visualize a situation whereby e spends the next two years (and probably last two years at the top-level of the game) with Manchester United.

However, there is a huge caveat attached to that visualization with our referenced source going on to suggest that he`d only come to Old Trafford if Louis van Gaal wasn`t still managing our fine club.

A matter of days ago we covered the fact that it had been remarked that Louis van Gaal had no intention of signing Ibrahimovic due to his age, believing that at 34-years-old it wouldn`t be the thing to do as he attempts to build a new side capable of challenging for honours.

However, it appears that isn`t the reason why Ibrahimovic doesn`t want to lay for a Louis van Gaal managed Manchester United, but it`s down to the fact that he`s not a fan of the Dutchman`s laboured style of play.

Elsewhere, the Mirror carries the suggestion that Ibrahimovic`s current captain at Paris Saint-Germain, Thiago Silva, has warned is team-mate that he would be taking a step-down if he were to join a Premier League club.

Quite how he makes that summarization I can`t make out, considering that La Ligue is a one-club league.

Meanwhile, across the English Channel the French media vehicle, L`equipe is running with the suggestion that, so far, Manchester United are the only Premier League club to have made an offer for the striker.

As you can see, the situation appears to be bubbling along nicely, but whether Ibrahimovic will be a Manchester United player next season, I`m none the wiser.
