Tuning in to watch our great rivals last night, but only because the alternative was the dirge they call soap opera, I had to have a quick chuckle to myself.

There he was, stood on the touchline, Italian charm personified, strutting around the technical box, dreaming of a first Premier League title, aided by Fat Platt, going ballistic at the referee.

Apparently, Roberto Mancini wasn`t too pleased when the referee, Martin Atkinson, failed to send off Maynor Figueroa when he deliberately handled a cross that was meant for Sergio Aguero.

Such was his angst he took to waving an imaginary red card, the very action he took Wayne Rooney to task on when Vincent Kompany tried to cut Nani in half and Wayne, allegedly, waved a red card in the direction of Chris Foy.

That Sunday, after the game, Mancini berated Rooney but it seems there`s one rule for some and another rule for others.

No wonder Wayne tweeted afterwards,

“Was Mancini asking for a red card?”

The word hypocrite comes to mind!
