History Favours United When It Comes To The FA Cup Quarter-Final Tonight

|

Tonight, Manchester United are live on the BBC as they face Wolverhampton Wanderers, in a FA Cup quarter-final.

For Manchester United it is a chance to edge nearer to a second consecutive FA Cup Final, hopefully returning to Old Trafford with the cup this time around.

However, as we prepare for what should be an entertaining fixture, we’ve uncovered a trio of fascinating acts.

Firstly, this will be the 100th time the two sides have played each other in all competitions, the first of those meetings being back in October 1892 when United, then known as Newton Heath, won the game 10-1, something similar would be nice this evening.

Secondly, this will be the fourth time the two sides have met in the quarter-final stages of the FA Cup, United have yet to be beaten, winning the first 5-3 at Molineux in 1965 and after drawing 1-1 at Old Trafford, winning the replay, at Molineux 3-2 back in 1976. Let’s hope that record continues this evening.

Thirdly, the two sides have met on 8 occasions in the FA Cup, United have won 4, Wolves 2 and the other two being drawn.

Does anyone care to predict a result for tonight?
