It`s fair to say that Ander Herrera has had a better second half to the season than he did the first.

The Spaniard, signed in the summer, took a while to settle into English football but his game has come on leaps and bounds in recent months.

On Sunday, against Arsenal, it was Ander who scored the goal we hoped would help us towards a third place finish in the Premier League, but it wasn`t to be, thanks to the last own goal unfortunately scored by Tyler Blackett.

Talking about the game yesterday and the transition from La Liga to the Premier League, Herrera had this to say to the media,

‘I think we played good in the first half. In the second half we knew they were a good team and were going to attack. It is a pity but they scored.

‘I am happy with my development. I have to keep improving. My first season at a big club and I have played lots of games and scored goals. I want to be as good as possible.

‘I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. When you arrive at a massive club it is not easy but I am happy and looking forward to next season. I want to be a champion here.’

If we can keep up the progress shown this season, that just might be the case (I hope)!
