Earlier this week, we ran an article covering the inference that our Spanish midfielder, Ander Herrera, would be putting pen-to-paper on a new deal.

With Barcelona having, according to the press, expressed a desire to take the 27-year-old back to Spain, Manchester United have moved quickly to tie Herrera to Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Star on Sunday, our new vice-captain will put pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal that will see the player earn a cool £200,000 a week.

Herrera was one of Manchester United`s most consistent performers last season and the new deal is clearly in recognition of the high esteem he is held in by Jose Mourinho and all those at Old Trafford.

Our congratulations go to all those concerned with the deal.
