Manchester United are represented in the latest League Cup Team of the Tournament that was selected ahead of Sunday’s show piece Final.

The performances by Ander Herrera during Manchester United’s EFL Cup journey this season saw the midfielder impress sufficiently for him to take a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the League Cup competition.

I think we’ll already know ourselves why Herrera was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the EFL Cup blurb read.

‘Manchester United’s midfield has impressed during the tournament, with Herrera getting the nod as the stand-out star for our selection. After grabbing a goal at Northampton Town in Round Three, the Spaniard starred in the Round Four win over bitter rivals Manchester City and was a feature in the victories over West Ham United and Hull City.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and congratulations to Herrera for his recognition.

Full Team:

Marco Silvestri (Leeds United), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Harry Maguire (Hull City), Maya Yoshida (Southampton), Matty Pearson (Accrington Stanley), Sofiane Boufal (Southampton), Ander Herrera (Manchester United), Mohamed Diame (Newcastle United), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool).
