Owen Hargreaves is finally set to make his United debut when the reserves take on Peterborough on Saturday.

Of course, saying that it will be the reserves is a bit harsh: after all, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Anderson will also play if things go as planned and of course Sir Alex Ferguson will be there himself to contest his son who’s taken over this year as manager.

Still, the vast majority of the first team won’t be there, as they’ll be preparing for Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Chelsea. But Hargreaves, who’s been craving to play for United since last summer will finally pull on the shirt in a game and I daresay that for him it will hardly matter who the opponents are and whether he’ll have to pass to Frazier Campbell or to Wayne Rooney.

As I’ve mentioned, Anderson might play, too – in fact, his debut is almost certain as he’s got no injury, unlike Hargreaves who would have taken part in the Asia Tour had it not been for a troublesome knee. Of course I’m looking forward to see the young Brazilian in action but the real test will be the Premiership – and did you realize it’s less than two weeks away now?
