Big things were expected of Bastian Schweinsteiger signed for Manchester United.

But, as is the case with some transfers, it just didn`t work out for the German midfielder.

Last season, Schweinsteiger was an isolated figure at Old Trafford, cast aside by Jose Mourinho as not being deemed a necessity for the squad.

Eventually, a deal was done that saw Schweinsteiger leave Manchester United and join the MLS club Chicago Fire.

However, with his deal set to expire, it seems, according to the German news source, Welt, Schweinsteiger, now 33-years-of-age, is set to return to the Bundesliga with several clubs having made offers for the player.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`d like to wish Bastian well in whatever option he chooses.
