As expected, after being a stalwart of the United set-up for so many years, Darren Fletcher was given the reception he deserved when he captained West Brom yesterday.

However, in helping his side to take the three points available he kind of ruined our day!

Speaking to the media afterwards the Scottish international had this to say about his sides unexpected win and how he views United`s ambitions, remarking,

‘We worked on making it difficult. We tried to make sure they were playing in front of us and dealt with their crosses.

‘We knew we’d have to ride our luck and we did that. The way results went today, It’s a massive result for us.

‘The goal all along for them was to finish top four and Chelsea were always going to be tough to catch.

‘Manchester United have a new manager and it’s a transitional period for them.

‘I’m sure everyone at the club will be striving to win the league next season, finishing fourth is not good enough for Manchester United.’

It might not but it`s definitely better than where we finished last season!
