The brace of World Cup Qualifiers the majority of nations are playing has provided one of our players with the perfect opportunity to get some much needed match practice.

Darren Fletcher, as you are all aware, is on the comeback trail after being sidelined for almost a year with a bowel condition. Tonight, it`s expected that Darren will be in the Scotland starting eleven that faces a very difficult fixture against a fast-improving Belgian side.

Having lost to Wales, on Saturday, the pressure is on the Scots to get a result or else their World Cup qualification hopes will fade fast. The poor result, against Wales, has also resulted in the pressure growing on the Scottish boss, Craig Levein, to turn things around but Darren has been quick to jump to his bosses` defence, remarking ahead of the game, from the Scotland camp,

“We are desperate for the performance and the win for the manager because we believe in him as a team, as a group.”

“We`ve seen the work he puts in, the way he treats the players, the attention to detail that goes into every game. It`s a really good set-up to be involved in and all the players genuinely enjoy being here. He treats us like adults, with respect.”

Can Darren inspire the Scots to produce the kind of performance needed to turn their hopes around or will the Belgians just be too strong?
