United continue their pursuit of another European crown with a difficult trip to Marseille in the last sixteen.

Discussing the Champions League draw, Sir Alex Ferguson had this to say about our opponents,

“Marseilles are a handful at their own ground, their fantastic atmosphere and incredible support guarantees that.”

“They`ve had a good change in fortunes in the last two or three years after a dry spell and think it`ll be a difficult tie.”

It could have been a harder draw though and in summing up the hopes of the other three English teams still left in the competition, Sir Alex had this to say,

“Quite a lot of people predicted Arsenal against Barcelona and that`s the interesting tie.”

“Chelsea go to FC Copenhagen and should get through. It`ll be interesting to see Milan and Spurs and also Inter and Bayern Munich. There are some nice ties and hopefully we can navigate ours.”

Who reaches the last eight will certainly be an interesting spectacle!
