Having picked up a second Football Association charge, not too long after completing a five game touchline ban, Sir Alex Ferguson has taken on an unusual stance.

Charged, ridiculously may we add, for making positive comments about Howard Webb, thereby contraving rule E3 which forbids any talk about referees ahead of games, Sir Alex has ignored the deadline imposed by the Football Association to answer the charge.

Instead he`s relying on a communication sent by the club to the Football Association headquarters, at Wembley, by the club, outlining his position in relation to the charges.

Subsequently the Football Association have issued a warning to Sir Alex stating it was only a minor infringement of a rule.

Much ado about nothing then!
