I feared this when Tevez started performing for City: now we’re treated to an avalanche of opinions by pundits and fans, all saying that what a mistake it was to let him go and keep Berbatov. Well, Fergie does not agree.

‘What Tevez is doing now is not an issue for me,’ he said.

‘We made a pitch, he didn`t take it, and he went to City. It`s no problem for us, we have moved on.

‘It`s not the end of the world for us. He`s done well and so be it, but I`ve got no issues about it.’

There’s one more thing though: until December, Tevez scored two Premier League goals. Imagine United spending 30M on Tevez and getting a return of 2 goals in 4 months. Would his headless-chicken-style running have been enough for the media to get off his and our back in case of such a scenario?

By the way, what if Tevez scores two goals in the next four months? Just asking.
