The 69 year-old Scot took the reigns at Old Trafford back on November 6th 1986, replacing Ron Atkinson after an eight-year tenure at Aberdeen, where he won three SPL titles, four Scottish Cups, a Scottish League Cup as well as the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1983.

Since then he’s continued his success, amassing an extraordinary 12 Premier League titles, 5 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, two Champions League trophies and a Cup Winners’ Cup. That doesn’t include a variety of Charity & Community Shields or UEFA Super Cups.

Sunderland are the visitors this weekend, managed by former United captain Steve Bruce and including the likes of Wes Brown, John O’Shea and Kieran Richardson – all former United players.

Looking back on his time so far, Fergie says he’s been honoured to have managed so many great players such as Roy Keane and Eric Cantona amongst a host of others and believes they were key to his success.
