Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed today the player we have put a bid in for. Surprise, surprise, it’s Berbatov!
Talking to ‘The Sun’, Ferguson confirmed the bid, but refused to go into details of the proposed deal.
‘We have made Tottenham an offer on Berbatov…’
He then went on to state his confidence in prising the Bulgarian away from White Hart Lane.
‘…and we have good expectations that this deal will go through.’
There is no doubting how much Berbatov would improve our attack, something Fergie was quick to point out.
‘Berbatov has been impressive during a long time and would be a great addition to our attack.’
Fergie spoke before the squad jetted off to South Africa to take part in a pre-season tournament, and reports over the weekend had suggested United were going to play a waiting game to get their man; which has now been all but confirmed by Ferguson.
‘I think time will work for us more than against us. We will not stress this situation. We are hoping to have a constructive conversation with Tottenham in the near future.’
So, like him or not; it looks like Berbatov is going to be our one signing this summer. It is no secret we have been tracking him for along time, and I for one cant wait for the deal to go through.
If he can play so well with Robbie Keane, imagine what he could achieve with the likes of Rooney, Tevez, Nani and Anderson.
