From Vital England:

At his press conference this afternoon, when inevitably a lot of the talk was about the England captaincy, Fabio Capello said that Rio Ferdinand had opted against meeting him recently to discuss the matter.

This has seen the media sensationalise his comments saying that Capello has said Ferdinand was to blame, so in part to blame for losing the captaincy…

Capello said: ‘it didn’t happen, he didn’t come. He didn’t come.

‘This is a question for him, not for me (why they did not meet). I was in the directors’ box.

‘I tried to meet him when Manchester United played against Marseille but he told me no.

‘I can understand everything, but I need to make decisions. I think I will be happy and will meet him in the future.’

Ok, so Capello is saying that it was the Man United mans fault for not meeting him, to a degree, but nothing more and nothing less, right?
