Nothing last forever, everything comes to an end, eventually!

But could the Manchester United career of Rio Ferdinand be drawing to a close?

Last week I ignored the rumours that Rio might be tempted by a return to Upton Park but now I`m not so sure.

Rio himself, has admitted that although he`s set to be offered a new deal he doesn`t know whether he`ll stay or not, admitting that he`ll decide in the summer what to do, with the thirty-four year-old defender commenting,

“It is always good to hear the manager say things like that but you have to take every week and month as it comes.”

“The best thing I can do is to look at Christmas, and then again in the summer to see how I`m feeling and go from there.”

Perhaps Rio`s decision will revolve around how many games he can get under his belt this season, perhaps fearful that the robust nature of the Premier League may not suit a body that is becoming harder to keep fit, with Rio adding,

“Last time I managed 30-odd games and if I do that again I`ll see that as a successful season personally.”

“But it`s about the team and we need to make sure we finish the season with some trophies.”

It is and I have this nagging feeling that if we do stick a trophy, or two, in the cabinet, Rio will be more than happy to sign on the dotted line, how about you?
