I was quite hoping that the allegations made by Patrice Evra, against Luis Suarez, would die a death, but that doesn`t appear to be the case.

For the third day on the bounce the tabloid press is keen to keep this one bubbling along.

Today, it`s the turn of Sir Alex Ferguson to have his say on the matter with the boss commenting,

“We spoke to Patrice today and he`s adamant that he wants to follow it on. It`s not an easy one because everyone knows Manchester and Liverpool have great responsibilities in terms of what happens on the field.”

“It`s not something we want to level at Liverpool and it`s not against Liverpool.”

“Obviously Patrice feels very aggrieved at what was said to him and it now rests in the hands of the FA now.”

“He feels he was slighted on Saturday and we don`t want to see it, simple as that.”

So it would appear that Evra has the full backing of his manager.

Someone else keen to have a say though is the PFA big-wig, Gordon Taylor, who appears to be trying to dampen the flames that are rearing up, remarking,

“It`s very disappointing to have two of our players from different countries at odds over a serious issue.”

“Only by having a full enquiry can we get to the bottom of it.”

“We need to try and cool down and reflect on what happened.”

“We will contact the FA to see what form their enquiry will take.”

Like we`ve said before, this one looks like it is going to rumble on and on!
