It`s not over yet but it has been a strange season.

Who`d have thought, back in August, that City would have stuffed us big time at Old Trafford but that we`d have exacted some modicum of revenge at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup.

Continuing along a similar theme, many pundits thought that the title race would be a little more competitive than a two horse race between the two Manchester sides.

But could the two scenarios mentioned above provide recompense for that aforementioned 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford, a United legend (who also played for City) seems to think so.

Dennis Law, talking at a recent fund raising event, had this to say about the scenario above,

“The 6-1 result will never be forgotten in terms of the history of derby games.”

“It will always be there in the history books, but will be forgotten to an extent if United go on to win the league.”

Is he right?

Would a 20th top flight title win eclipse all memories of that awful day?
