Dramatic developments relating to Angel Di Maria could see the Argentine winger become a Manchester United player.

Yesterday the news broke that the player had rejected a new deal at the Bernabeu Stadium and wanted to leave Real Madrid.

The Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, remarked about the player,

“Di Maria asked to go in the summer and has rejected an offer from the club.”

The 26 year-old had previously interested the French side Paris St-Germain but their Financial Fair Play obligations have seem them ruled out of any potential deal, unless they off-load a costly star almost immediately.

This now opens up the field for Manchester United to pursue their target in a deal that is being suggested as being worth £50 million, which would make it a new club record, beating the fee paid to Chelsea for Juan Mata.

At 26 years of age, Di Maria is in the prime of his career and if the suited gentleman at Old Trafford can do the deal then it would give the whole place a huge lift as we look to climb back to the summit of English football.

We wait with baited breath!
