Speculation that Manchester United, on the back of their recent problems, might be tempted to resurrect any ambition of signing the Dutch play-maker Wesley Sneijder, appear to have been quashed by the player himself.

The Inter Milan midfielder, supposedly touted around Europe by his club as being available for a £25 million, is quoted as commenting in the media,

“I am 90 per cent certain I will stay (at Inter until at least next summer). I`m not 100 per cent certain, because something unexpected can always happen.”

“But I enjoy myself here and at this point I don`t have anything to choose from.”

So are we hanging on for a 5 per cent chance of one of our problems being cured?

As an added kick in the crotch, there are also rumours relating to Sneijder that suggest that Inter Milan may try and secure a deal for our old friend Carlos Tevez by offering the Dutchman as part of any deal to take want-away Tevez to Milan. Now that would hurt!
