Backed by home support, David De Gea has looked to be an assured keeper in our last two fixtures, against Tottenham and Arsenal.

After saving a penalty from Robin van Persie, we`d imagine that his confidence is high and that the next match can`t come along quick enough.

But as we are all aware, a trip to the Reebok can be a daunting affair. Bolton, as Kevin Davies has commented in our match preview, will be keen to throw in a few aerial balls to test De Gea`s resolve and we wouldn`t be too surprised if our opponents were looking to rough the youngster up a bit as well.

De Gea, in the build up to the clash, is perfectly aware that any errors he does make, in the red-hot atmosphere of the Reebok, will be caught on camera and that the press will be ready to pounce.

But, ahead of the clash, De Gea, has spoken to the media about those errors he`s previously made and of how he`s settled into life at Old Trafford, commenting,

“When you do things wrong – even though it`s only a couple of mistakes – the press has every right to criticize you.”

“Especially when you`re a keeper under the spotlight. What happened is something normal, no big deal.”

“It`s in my hands to change those early negative criticisms into praise.”

“I`m improving in every training session and every match but above that al I`m keeping intact the confidence in my ability.”

“I`m surrounded by very good people and that means we can do big things this year.”

“Only that way will I continue to grow as a goalkeeper and have the necessary confidence to become a key player.”

“The club, the fans, the facilities and atmosphere, it`s out of this world.”

“All my team-mates aver very open, there`s a good atmosphere and it`s much easier to integrate.”

“I`m very happy because from the first day I`ve felt like just one more within the group.”

For all Bolton`s bluster, I reckon De Gea will be more than up to the job this Saturday evening!
