The future of David De Gea, with regards to the will he stay or is he going confusion, has resulted in Manchester United taking some extraordinary steps.

With the epic dragging on, Louis van Gaal has admitted that the club are, in case De Gea does bid farewell to Old Trafford this summer, are already contemplating buying a replacement for the Spaniard.

With even our Dutch boss conceding he doesn`t know whether De Gea will be going or staying, Van Gaal has commented,

‘We have a list of goalkeepers who can replace him because we have to be organised always.

‘We want him to stay and I hope he shall sign.”

However, Louis van Gaal also stressed that the final decision will be, as we suspected, down to the player, further adding,

‘You have three parties [involved] and the most important party is always the player.

‘It’s dependable not of Manchester United, not of me, because we want him to sign. He has to sign, he has to want to stay here at Manchester United. I don’t know [why he hasn’t decided].’

So, if De Gea does go and a list is being compiled, who do we reckon could be heading that list?

Hugo Lloris, Petr Cech, to name but two and with the latter available for a fee, said to be £10 million and still only 32 years of age, could we be doing business with Chelsea just like we did with one Juan Mata?
