With the future of David De Gea still uncertain could there be a major twist just around the corner?

One Sunday tabloid is intimating that the French goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, may be set to head out the White Hart Lane exit door.

Lloris, it would appear, has his heart set on Champions League football.

Therefore, quite naturally, it is being implied that a move to Old Trafford to replace the, probably, departing David De Gea, could be on the cards.

But if such a deal is to be brokered then it may come at a cost.

Lloris has no buy-out clause in his contract and Tottenham would be in no rush to sell, even more so when they know that they must pay Lyon, Lloris` former club 20 per cent of any transfer fee in excess of what they received, a reported £12 million.

It remains to be seen whether United and Daniel Levy will conduct negotiations or whether it is all just newspaper speculation.
