Are we about to witness another twist in the ongoing transfer saga of David De Gea?

The reason I ask is that some media vehicles are implying that De Gea might be getting cold feet about the move.

Reports suggest that De Gea isn`t keen on going to Real Madrid if he has to go head-to-head with Iker Casillas for the goalkeepers` jersey.

The gist of the reports being circulated infers that De Gea wants Real Madrid to, effectively, dump Casillas if they wish to procure his services.

Now there`s no doubting that Casillas, although 34-years-of-age, would be an attractive proposition to several other clubs looking for a keeper but it should be remembered that Casillas holds huge sway at the Spanish club.

With the chance that De Gea could now be caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, the suggestion is that the Spaniard may decide to stay at Old Trafford for the final year of his contract.

But if that were to be the case would Manchester United, in twelve months time, be prepared to watch De Gea leave on a free transfer?

It`s all getting intriguing isn`t it!
