David Ornstein of The Athletic has published an article that provides an update on the Manchester United ownership situation.
Last week, Adam Leventhal spoke to Avram Glazer for The Athletic out in Qatar at the FIFA World Cup as the United co-owner was watching the semi-final clash between France and Morocco.
In his article, Ornstein says that the Avram “has held talks with potential investors during his trip to Doha for the World Cup, including from Saudi Arabia and Qatar” [via The Athletic].
Last month, the Glazer family publicly announced that they were “exploring strategic alternatives to enhance the club’s future growth” [Man Utd], which included the potential for a sale of Manchester United.

The news that Avram has been out in Qatar talking to potential investors is interesting because it comes at a time when he is looking to sell Man United, and on Wednesday he provided an update on the ownership situation, saying that, “It’s not necessarily a sale, it’s a process and we’re going forward with the process, so we’ll see what happens”, Glazer told The Athletic.
“That’s the update, it’s the process and the process is proceeding” [via The Athletic].
The Glazers have been in charge of the club since 2005 and in that time fans have demonstrated their frustration and anger towards the Americans through protests and anti-Glazer chants during their 17-year ownership because of how they purchased the club initially and in the subsequent years due to the decline of United on the pitch, in which they have played a major part in.
"We want Glazers out."
Protests have begun outside of Old Trafford ahead of #MUNLIV.
