During the week the inference was given that the Manchester United target Nathaniel Clyne might be looking to stay at Southampton.

Foundation was given to the suggestion due to the fact Southampton were indicating that talks, relating to a new contract, were going well.

Well it now seems that scenario might be dramatically changing.

After being given an ultimatum by the Southampton manager, Ronald Koeman, an ultimatum that gave the player 10 days to decide if he wanted to stay or not, the feeling being given by the tabloid press is that Clyne has opted for the NOT option.

However, rumours persist that Chelsea are also interested in signing Clyne but United appear to have stolen a march on the champions-elect with Clyne seeming to favour a link-up with his former team-mate, at Southampton, Luke Shaw.

We`ll endeavour to keep an eye on any developments.
