It appears that Tom Cleverley, unless something happens with regards to a move outside of the transfer window, will be remaining at Old Trafford for the next few months.

Decreed as surplus to requirements, it looked exceedingly like Cleverley would be leaving Old Trafford yesterday, however a dramatic turn of events appeared to wreck those plans.

After haggling over his salary, at Villa Park, it appears that some kind of agreement was reached. But at the 11th hour Cleverley`s head was swayed by interest from Everton.

Having spent time, on loan, at Wigan under the leadership of Roberto Martinez, Cleverley was keen to link up with his former mentor again.

But, it would seem that a deal couldn`t be sealed with arguments going on in relation to whether the deal would be a loan one or a permanent one, arguments that were ended by the closure of the transfer window.
