Has that great tradition we practice, in this country, started to kick in?

You know, the tradition whereby we build somebody up, stick them on a pedestal and then their feet away from under them.

Tom Cleverley has made great strides in the last couple of years and is on the verge of establishing himself as both a regular in the United side and also the international side but still some people are prepared to have a snipe.

It transpires that Tom`s website has received some criticism with the suggestion being bandied about that he`s getting too big for his boots.

Thankfully, Tom has been quick to get his point across and put a few people in their place by remarking in the media,

“The website was something I was doing for charity and I don`t want to talk about that, I just want to talk about football.”

“I have got my feet on the floor; I always try to stay grounded and always have. I got a day off on Saturday and just went back to my mum`s in Bradford.”

“It does annoy me a bit when people say I`m getting ahead of myself. I`ve only won the League One title at Leicester and the Community Shield at united – that`s about it.”

“When you are out on loan and you see world-class players doing well and winning titles at United it does seem a hard mountain to climb.”

You tell them Tom but be cautious of getting into something akin to a slanging match!
