I`m not sure exactly when the contract that ties Tom Cleverley to Old Trafford expires but one thing for certain is that we`re not going to see the midfielder in a Manchester united shirt again.

Currently on a season long loan spell with Aston Villa and readying himself for an FA Cup Final appearance at Wembley tomorrow afternoon, Cleverley has experienced a dramatic up-turn in form since Tim Sherwood took over at Villa Park from Paul Lambert.

That up-turn in form had many tipping Tom for a place in the England squad for the forthcoming fixtures. Unfortunately, for Tom, that didn`t happen but it appears Roy Hodgson still has Cleverley in his sights, remarking to the media very recently,

“Cleverley was very unlucky to miss out on this selection.

“He was someone we discussed a lot. If someone else went down we have Tom up our sleeves.”

It`s very rare for a club to let an England international walk away on a free but that looks as if it is going to be the case with Tom.
