Since the turn of the year we`ve been pondering whether our veteran midfielder, Michael Carrick, will be with Manchester United next season.

Carrick, now 35-years-of-age, has a testimonial match at Old Trafford on June 4th and it was thought it may be his final appearance in a Manchester United shirt, after spending eleven seasons with the club.

Signed back in 2006, from Tottenham Hotspur, for a fee of £18.6 million, Carrick has made 45717th in the all-time appearance list, during his time with Manchester United, he has also scored 24 goals.

However, it seems that Carrick will be staying at Old Trafford with it being reported that talks between both sides are progressing well when it comes to agreeing a one-year contract extension.

Perhaps, Carrick can add to the 5 Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and 2 League Cups during his stay with the club.
