Carrick Set for Manchester United Coaching Role

Yesterday, it became public knowledge that Michael Carrick had been side-lined courtesy of an irregular heart rhythm.

It is a complaint that required treatment described as a cardiac ablation.

Thankfully, Michael Carrick is back in full training and we look forward to the midfielder making a welcome return to the first team.

However, it seems that Carrick`s long-term future at Old Trafford is secure.

Whilst his playing career may be coming to an end, it seems the 36-year-old is set to be offering a coaching role at the club.

Jose Mourinho, talking about his veteran midfielder, is quoted by the BBC as having remarked,

‘He knows that my coaching staff has the chair for him if he wants.

‘When he wants the chair, it is there in the office for him. I want that, the board wants that and the owner wants that. His future will be with us.’

Wonderful news for a player who has been at Old Trafford since joining from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2006.
