Several times, in recent months, we may have covered the fact that the future of Michael Carrick is still up in the air.

Carrick, now 34-years of age, is approaching the final few weeks of his current contract and has yet to be offered a 12-month extension.

With his future, at Old Trafford, clouded in doubt, it`s interesting to note that speculation has appeared in The Sun linking West Ham United with a move for the player.

Interestingly, Carrick spent five years as a West Ham United player so, in effect, he would be returning to a changed but familiar environment, if you get my drift.

Looking ahead, can you see Carrick leaving Old Trafford this summer to return to East London?

It wouldn`t surprise me if that were to be the case!
