With Liverpool still insisting that he`s not really for sale you know, speculation surrounding where Raheem Sterling might be playing continues to mount.

After politely pointing out that Manchester United had, according to the media, made an opening gambit of some £20 million for the unsettled striker, we suggested that or rumoured bid might open the floodgates.

Well that would appear to be the case with it being reported yesterday (Saturday), Manchester City had shown their initial hand by looking to offer Liverpool £25 million for the talented youngster plus another £5 million in add-ons if his career, as many suspects it will, flourishes.

We wait with baited breath for the other, supposed, contenders of Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid, to declare their opening bids.
