Recently, the name of Laurent Blanc received very dignified acknowledgements as a possible successor to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Blanc, who also enjoyed a spell as a player at Old Trafford, was seen as somebody who made a remarkable impression during his spell at United whilst also showing, since, the credentials to inherit the managerial crown from Sir Alex.

But, if that is to be the case, somebody could be about to throw a spanner in the proverbial works.

Down in North London, having sacked Harry Redknapp, Spurs are on the lookout for a new boss and, the way this article is heading, it doesn`t take a genius to work out that Laurent Blanc is one of the candidates penciled in as a candidate to follow in the footsteps of Harry Redknapp with Daniel Levy keen to speak to the current French international team boss.
