Yesterday Tyler Blackett made his debut for Reading.

The former Manchester United youngster, deemed surplus to requirement by Jose Mourinho, joined Reading on a 3-year deal during the week.

In an ideal world, Blackett would have moved through the system at Old Trafford and taken a place in the United defence, however, football doesn`t run as smoothly as that with competition for places being paramount.

But moving to Reading appears to be something that Blackett is willing to embrace, remarking about his move,

“I`m very excited to be working with Jaap, he`s an absolute legend at United.

“Having been at Old Trafford you really understand what he`s done. It`s always in my mind to try to emulate that.

“I came through the academy and we were taught to play the ball out from the back. It`s something I`ve grown up with.

“I`m enjoying it here so far. I feel I`m settling in nicely and getting to know how things work.”

Here at Vital Manchester United we`ll endeavour to keep an eye on how Blackett develops at his new club.
