The reigning holders advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where an away tie at Chelsea awaits them, thanks to a 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers, at Ewood Park.

But Jose Mourinho`s side didn`t have it all their own way against a side struggling to stave off relegation in the Championship.

True to his word, Mourinho fielded a strong side against Blackburn but it didn`t stop our hosts from taking the lead in the 17th minute.

The goal was good enough to earn applause from Jose Mourinho when some good work from Marvin Emnes saw Danny Graham unleash a rising shot that gave Sergio Romero, in the United goal, no chance whatsoever.

Manchester United responded well with Ander Herrera forcing a fine save from Jason Steele in the Blackburn goal.

However, with twenty-seven minutes gone Manchester United drew level when a precise pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan saw Marcus Rashford round the keeper to score.

Looking to avoid a replay and also to win the tie, Mourinho introduced the big guns in the shape of Ibrahimovic and Pogba and it was the former that was to score the winner when he latched on to a pass from Pogba and given far too much time to pick spot and tuck in the winner to give Manchester United the win and a tie at Stamford Bridge in the quarter-finals.

It should be a classic.
