Manchester United Women will take on Bikirkara Women in a friendly tomorrow at five o’clock.

Birkirkara Women are a team from Malta and they compete in the Maltese First Division which is called the Assikura Women’s League and are ten-time champions.

They have one of the smallest leagues in Europe with only seven teams in the top-flight division in Malta.

Founded in 1995, the head coach of the side is Jose Borg and they play in their traditional red and yellow stripes.

Birkirkara Women won their last game 2-0 against Swiequi United on Wednesday the 21st of December.

As they sit top of the Assikura Women’s League with 17 points from seven games. The two teams will play at the men’s stadium, Hibernians Stadium, which is the only pitch in Malta which is owned by a club.

Marc Skinner’s side’s last outing was against Sheffield United where the Red Devils won 4-0 with Canadian Adriana Leon scoring a brace.

United will look to get the most out of this friendly with players returning after the Christmas and New Years’ break.

Fielding most of the players to get minutes under their belt will be critical to go into the second half of the season as they face Liverpool in the first Women’s Super League game back.

The team have been in training in the sunny country between Sicily and the North African coast today and yesterday.

There has been no interview before the game from Marc Skinner but there has been from Alessia Russo, however, United will look to go and win the game convincingly.
