Darren Fletcher’s attempts to return from a long-term bowel problem, this is a chronic bowel problem, have stepped up.

The midfielder recently returned to training at Carrington and has played in a practice match.

Fletcher’s chances of soon returning have been further boosted by the invitation from Scotland to go and train with them ahead of their friendly with Australia on Wednesday 15th August.

It’s another good sign for the 28-year-old who has had a difficult time over the past 10-months or so but his return could be closer for both club and country with his fighting spirit something that United will hope to have available again soon.
