BECKS’ CORNROWS VOTED FOOTBALL’S MOST ICONIC HAIRSTYLE

Head & Shoulders survey reveals table-topping football hairstyles

As the latest wave of footballing superstars battle it out for hairstyle supremacy this summer, global football fans have identified David Beckham’s Cornrows as the most iconic hairstyle in the history of the beautiful game.

In promotion of the Men Ultra range and as part of the Head & Shoulders #JUSTWATCHME campaign, football hairstylist Landry Agres is giving fans exclusive football hairstyle tutorials so they can replicate some of the beautiful game’s most iconic hairstyles this summer.

In a global survey of football fans across eight nations facilitated by Head & Shoulders, Becks’ 2003 masterpiece was voted #1 with 25% of the vote fighting off stiff competition from the likes of Ruud Gullit’s Trademark Dreadlocks voted #2 (22%of the votes) and Ronaldo’s Shaved Dome voted #3 (16% of the votes) at the top of the hairstyle table.

Out of the current crop of heroic footballing hairstyles, Neymar’s Bleached Barnet (37%) and David Luiz’s Coils (30%) took the top places followed by Radja Nainggolan’s Mohawk and Pogba’s Batman Scalp Art.

While Beckham holds the title of the most iconic hairstyle, another iconic United no.7 was named the biggest influencer when it comes to choosing a new barnet.

Big-name footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo can make almost any hairstyle popular and nearly half (48%)of those questioned identified the Ballon d’Or winner as the player who gives them the most hairstyle inspiration for their own look.

Compared to Beckham’s iconic braids, the Madrid marksman often sports a suave but simple trim. A third of those questioned highlighted their workplace dress code (33%) as the deciding factor preventing them from adopting a braver hair-do in support of their footballing heroes.
