Looks like there has been a further twist in the transfer saga of Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack.

Reports earlier in the week were linking the player to all and sundry but also stating the player may choose to remain at Bayern. However it seems that he might well have burnt his bridges at Bayern with chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge (does he come in 57 varieties as well?!) stating at the clubs agm ‘We officially withdrew our offer on Monday.’ It seems Ballack had stalled too long and could well now end up at either Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC or Inter Milan.

Rummenigge added it ‘does not necessarily mean that Michael will leave us but I say point blank that we will immediately sound out the market to look for a replacement.’

The 29 year olds contract runs out next summer with the Bundesliga champions so they will no doubt look at selling him in the January transfer window so as to command some fee.
