In a fantasy world, I`m guessing there would be a huge number of Manchester United supporters who would love to see Gareth Bale wear the famous red shirt of Manchester United.

When Bale was at Tottenham Hotspur, there was a suspicion that a move to Old Trafford was on the cards, for the Welshman, before Real Madrid stepped in and paid what was, back then, a world record transfer fee.

This summer, with the silly season getting in full swing, the suggestion that Bale could be leaving Real Madrid and heading back to the Premier League with, once again, the inference being bandied about that Manchester United could be in the market for the 27-year-old.

But, it appears that it is all only wishful thinking.

Today, in the Daily Mail, Bale is quoted as confirming he doesn`t want to leave the Spanish club.

Instead, his main priority is to overcome the injury woes that blighted his season whereby an ankle injury saw the exciting player side-lined for three months.

The three-month injury absence is thought to be behind the speculation that Bale could be available for transfer with our source mentioning the injury added fuel to the fire relating to Real Madrid opting to cash in on their asset.

Will we ever get to see Bale in a Manchester United shirt?

My view is that, unless it is for some kind of testimonial / benefit game, the answer will be a resounding NO!
