World Cup

Another milestone for United player

|

Marcus Rashford joined Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes in making his 50th appearance for his national team at the World Cup in Qatar.

Rashford came on in England’s 3-0 win over Senegal in the second half to win his 5oth cap for the Three Lions and it is an achievement that he should be proud of as he becomes an elite group of United players to achieve that honour.

Rashford, who put in a Player of the Match display during England’s 3-0 win over Wales, continued off in the same vain as he created a brilliant opportunity for England captain Harry Kane to score his second from close range.

The United man could have combined with club team-mate, Luke Shaw as his shot hit the side nettings in the closing stages after Shaw delivered in a tempting cross.

Rashford, who has currently scored three goals at the World Cup, will be hoping to add to his tally when England face France on Saturday in what will be a mouthwatering clash for players, fans and coaches alike.

If Rashford features in the game over France, then he will most likely come up against his United team-mate Raphael Varane, even though he is probably going to play on the flanks but such is his movements and runs, he might find himself competing against Varane, which should be interesting viewing for United fans.

Harry Maguire and Shaw will be hoping to play Varane’s France, who have star striker Kylian Mbappe in their ranks and he is in red-hot goal scoring form with five goals at the World Cup thus far.
