Transfer speculation can be a wonderful thing.

As well as brightening up the summer months, months which seem to drag without our weekly dose of football, they provide us with some quirky little snippets that can often be contrived as pure fantasy by those who have dreamt them up.

One such rumour, quite possibly, has hit the tabloid press this morning with one tabloid going overboard about United launching a bid for the Udinese winger, Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez, who was rumoured to be a City target, is rated in the £30 million bracket and his agent, Fernando Felicevich, has already sounded out moves to several Spanish clubs, moves that Sanchez isn`t too keen on as he believes he wouldn`t be guaranteed a first team start.

Here at Vital Manchester United we`re not sure that the story has all that much credibility. Sure, Sanchez might well be haggling after a move away from Udinese and there may well be interest from a couple of Premier League clubs, but I can`t seriously see Sir Alex Ferguson wanting to pay that much for a player when he already has the likes of Valencia, Nani and Park who can all occupy a similar role.

That is, unless of course, we`re set for a few departures that may surprise us all.

Your thoughts please!
