Tonight, as we fulfill our Europa League obligations with the visit of Ajax for a tie that was, more-or-less, settled in the Amsterdam Arena, we will be without the charismatic Wayne Rooney.
It transpires that Rooney, who was noticeable by his absence from the open training session yesterday, has a throat infection that will keep him on the sidelines.
Indeed, it is being suggested that it`ll be a race against time to get Rooney fit to face Norwich this Sunday.
Talking about the situation, Sir Alex Ferguson has commented,
“It has got worse and he`s been in bed over the weekend.”
No need to rush the lad back, I`m sure we can cope with the likes of Welbeck, Hernandez and Berbatov leading the attack.
