With the 19th Premier League title done and dusted, all thoughts are on May 28th and the Champions League Final with Barcelona.

But, unfortunately, there`s the small matter of our final Premier League fixture this Sunday.

Whilst it has all the prospects of being a memorable day, it would be a day made easier if our opposition were another team that had nothing to play for.

Instead we face Blackpool, a side that needs a result to stave off the threat of relegation.

With United being unbeaten at home all season, and having only dropped points at Old Trafford once (against West Bromwich Albion), it is a difficult task that Ian Holloway and his men face.

Nevertheless, we`d imagine that Holloway might have a little smile on his face when he contemplates that, with the Champions League Final little more than a week away, Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to shuffle his pack possibly resting key players.

But, if that is the case, we`re reliably informed that United may face a fine from the Premier League, especially if United lose. Now that, in the real world, may be a small price to pay, especially if it contributes towards a Champions League Final victory.

But, if we were to lose to Blackpool and Ian Holloway`s side were to stay up, I`d imagine that we`d be struck off the Christmas card list of the side that does slip into the Championship, whether it be Wolves, Wigan or Birmingham.

However, playing devils advocate, wouldn`t it be a scream if it were Wolves and Mick McCarthy who fell through the trap door especially so when you consider they once turned up at Old Trafford with what could be loosely termed a reserve team!
