A Familiar Face Could Be Set For A Shock Return To Manchester United

|

Okay, our results this season may not have been what we expected back in August and nobody foresaw that, at this stage of the season, we’d be languishing in mid-table, but are we really contemplating axing Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Perhaps not but that hasn’t stopped speculation emerging as to who might succeed Solksjaer in the Old Trafford managerial hot-seat.

According to The Daily Mail, the former Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is being linked with the role and furthermore, it is also being implied that if Allegri were to be appointed, to the role, he’d rather like to bring in the former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra, as part of his backroom staff.

Allegri, currently on a managerial sabbatical, has a marvellous record with the Turin club but would he really be, if Manchester United were to axe Solksjaer, be willing to take on the task of rebuilding our fine club?

Your thoughts on the above subject matter, in the comment facility beneath this article, would be welcomed.

You say linked with has-beens instead of youngsters; the youngsters brought in at the height of Man U’s good form were exceptional and cannot be compared to the dearth we see now. People rave about Greenwood, McTomcat, Pereira, Gomes, Chong et al, but in truth they would never have made the team of yesteryear. In contrast, the so-called has-beens are a proven entity with ability, talent, intelligence and could effectively restore our rightful position in the league. Someone like Ibrahamovic or Rakitic would run rings around the rubbish we have at present. What they they have lost in speed they have compensated with experience. Of course, a decent manager would help too. Someone like Brendan Rogers perhaps.

as we all know allegri is a marvelous coach with great potentials and focus he loves to win in as much as everyone does but he also hates to loose that’s what makes the difference he has set his record so high with Turin

and we also know Man Utd is a beautiful club so it won’t be a difficult task handling over the coaching position to allegri I believe allegri is the right man for the job

Ole may lack experience but his commitment to Manchester United and the ethos of the club are above questions. The club need to look at some of the players who don’t have the same commitment, Pogba for one, great players give their best 100% of the time, not when the feel like it, his only commitment is himself and when the going gets tough he wants out the door. Give it to him, Manchester United doesn’t need the tail wagging the dog, never had player power before. Don’t need diva’s , we need hard working players.
Ole is going to take the fall eventually but he needs players to give the effort of the blood sweat and tears he gave when he crossed the whitewash

Hmm allegri is not doubt a good manager but I feel Ole need a little time to swap the players back to shape

Everybody is not going to be happy all the time. OGS was appointed as ED could not deal with strong coaches. A proven track record means absolutely nothing to ED (eg. Mou and van Gaal)
IMO signing these old chaps – and i am not saying they not quality – is exactly why the club is shite atm and this started with getting Scholes out of retirement and Giggs playing till his 40’s.
We should not be signing big name players but rather players 23/24/25.
Why sign players when OGS cannot bring out the best in whom he has.
Had OGS not been so arrogant about playing boys – in addition to Maguire, Wan Bissaka, James the squad could have included Alderwereld, Fernandez, Lukaku (failure to show confidence among rumours) Herera (took to long to renew) and Eriksen.
    OGS IS THE CLUELESS ONE

Forget allegri. Get an experienced forward(mandzukic) in January. Get Madison at all cost and please whoever sits at those stupid board meetings, tell those motherfuckers to let ed hire a director of football. How difficult will that be? As for olé against loserpool; ddg,shaw,awb,tuanzebe/lindelof,Maguire, matic,rashford,mactominay,martial,pogba,James..make magic& Scott do DM together. How hard can that be?

Man Utd hv been tasting success during the Fergie era but now no longer bcoz new managers needs time to rebuild.Success is not short term but needs to build around new players. It took Fergie a while till he got the winning winning formula & winning mentality.Give managers time to get things in place.Give the managers the top management support & the true Man Utd will prevail. Even the worlds best managers needs time to rebuild,to bring out the best out frm players, new tactics, winning mentality & top it of with trust. Most importantly trust is success.

I have been supporting Manchester United from the eighties through the club’s ups and downs and the one thing they never did was change managers the way one w ould change their underwear. Today it’s all about sacking managers for underperformance but it’s the players whom are on the field playing .I think time is needed for ole to make his stars shine not another manager. When it comes to players we are in desperate need of 2 talented creators and 2 pouches to put the ball in the net

6 years no proper signing , 6 long years with ed woodward seriously need i say more

The problem at Manchester united is not the coach. The problems is the players and the board that is managing the club. Even if they get magician to coach ,as long as the board don’t get Paul pogba out of the club and the board to do what they knows doing best, these players will never stop their bad attitudes and the club will fall. Thanks

  • Mark says:

Cant believe an institution like this is going so far backwards until we get a respected top class manager such as Allegri get top players and build for the future ole is part of old trafford but never a manager not a clue oh the board are a disgrace we are the laughing stock of world football

Allegri would be a waste of time. Stick to someone who’s going to understand the Premier League from the get go – Pochettino has the pedigree and should be ready for a big club. With the club and funding behind him I think he can succeed. Most of all I think he would win the Premier League title sooner rather than later. The other option should be Nagelsmann. He’s a great up and comer who’s winning ways could turn our fortunes around. Could he win the Premier League title any time soon, that I’m not sure about. Feel like it takes a few years to get acquainted with the league and teams. Every game is a tough game in the EPL, there are no easy games anymore.
