One aspect of Wayne Rooney`s game that has improved over the past twelve months has been his self control.

Sure, Wayne is prone to the odd snarl and the odd lunging tackle still but they are few and far between.

Nevertheless, with memories of how Portugal disrupted his tournament last time out still relatively fresh, the USA legendary defender, Alexi Lalas, seems to think that Wayne will be susceptible to a similar occurrence of recklessness this time out when he comments to the media,

“You must use everything to your advantage. I hope he has a temper tantrum, has a swing at someone and gets thrown out. I`d love to see him act like a baby. That would be fine with me.”

“This is all part of gamesmanship, recognizing the weaknesses and the flaws of individual players and teams.”

In our book it stinks of dirty tricks but we think you`ll find, like we suggested, Wayne isn`t the same reckless player you might think he is!
