The more the David De Gea situation drags on the more I`m inclined to believe that the Spanish keeper will be heading off to a new career with Real Madrid.

The old expression no smoke without fire is certainly springing to mind.

This morning the press are insinuating that Manchester United have told the Spanish giants that if they do seek to acquire the talented 24-year-old keeper it will cost them a fee of £45 million.

It is also suggested, in a move that might appease the Old Trafford faithful. United might be prepared to propose a deal whereby De Gea goes to the Bernabeu and the Welsh forward, Gareth Bale, comes to Old Trafford, but with a wad of cash going to Real Madrid as well.

Personally, although I`d love to categorically state that I believe David De Gea is going nowhere, I reckon there is substantial mileage in this rumour yet before a conclusion is reached, which way though I`m not prepared to firmly say.
