With the curtain now drawn on the campaign of 2016/17, it’s time to find out which player was tagged as the quickest across the season.
Thesedays in football a number of statistics are garnered across the season, and the fittest and fastest has been tracked from Match Week One right through to the final game of the campaign and on a top speed front, Southampton’s Shane Long takes the fastest prize this year with a top speed of 35.31KPH which he set in the opening day draw with Watford.
Ten players in total broke the 35KPH mark with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford coming in second place, with West Bromwich Albion’s Matt Phillips in third.
Bournemouth’s Dan Gosling took the prize for distance covered in a single match as he polled 14 kilometres in Match Week 20’s three all draw with Arsenal. Liverpool’s Adam Lallana also ranked 13.3KM on four different occasions across the campaign.
